SIGNAL2NOISE: DOUGLAS BLAIR (W.A.S.P.) & TOXY LONDON (Santa Cruz)

‘In the spirit of legendary power trios like Rush, King’s X, Nirvana and Primus, comes an unprecedented ‘power duo’ featuring two unlikely characters. Douglas Blair is primarily known for his searing lead guitar work with W.A.S.P.(USA), and Toxy Cruz as a mainstay behind the drum kit with Santa Cruz (FIN) for several years. Both have toured Europe and US, Blair extensively. 2020 calendars were of course wiped clean for both – yet the time has been used wisely.

In signal2noise, Blair’s self-invented 8-string GuitarCross creates a wall of thunder as it merges guitar and bass, while London’s deft percussion slices it to pieces. Blair sings lead while London supports, with several acoustic interludes breaking up the dual-faceted power exhibition. s2n made their live EU debut in August at the SmugglerRok6 festival, and plans their debut release “fighting mental illness” for winter 2021, due out on Platform West Records (USA).
Both men return to their main gigs in 2021, making this a ‘must see’ event.’
